HELP ME DECIDE!

I really have been busy making a quilt... It's called Chinese Magic and it is all sorts of Asian fabrics. Made a little dent in my collection - a little dent.

I can't decide which way to go with the borders... so I need your help!

this way with a cream/gold border first, finished to 1-1/2, then a small 3/4 loose border then about a 6 inch main border,,,,
or...
this way,, with the green first cut for a finished 1-1/2, then the small 3/4 creme and the same border fabric.

I picked the green and creme cause of the main border fabric and because there is so much purple in everything else ( sorry, no big picture of the entire quilt yet )

SO,,, which way should I go??

I think the gold and then green is more striking and it stands out against the black. Otherwise the green and then cream seem to blend into the other fabrics and they aren't noticeable.

Can't wait to see the finished quilt!

I go with the green first because it's dark enough for the eye to stop and rest. Then it moves on to the yellow which compliments the border. JMO

Hi Beth !

I like the green next to the quilt best, and the cream next to the border. Don't have a good explaination why. . . . I just like it ! Thanks for visiting my blog earlier. . .it is nice to have visitors and comments ! I am holding out until after T.Day for a post about a poinsettia quilt I just quilted. . .I am so anxious to show it. . but don't want to rush Christmas before T.Day !

Am enjoying your blog, and stop by and visit me again too !

I like the green but think the cream does not add anything to the quilt......try it without that extra color and see if you like it that way.

thanks for stopping by my blog......
I only have one granddaughter right now and I am having a ball making her, dresses, toys and purses and many little quilts and books.
Woohoo what fun being a grandma!

Happy Thanksgiving and Happy sewing

I like the gold first, it makes a nice frame and resting place for the eye. Beautiful Quilt!

I liked the first combination (gold, then green) instantly. Then on second thought, maybe Kim is right and you could skip the gold without losing any impact, but then this is best decided if you can view the quilt as a whole.
Whichever choice you make, I think it will make one beautiful quilt!
